Look: A near-white head rests atop a shining though thick amber-copper brew. Retention and lacing are pretty good.
Smell: I can already tell this is one of the less hoppy DIPAs I've had or will have, despite claims to the contrary. There is a bit of hop bouquet, though, and it does grow to be respectable. It would make a sessionable IPA other than the higher ABV. Malts are a mix of sweet and dry, and more than needed for the hops to really shine.
Taste: As with the smell, I'd like more hops for a DIPA. Somehow not much spiciness on the palate from these hops, but there is some of the floral note. It goes strangely woody and somewhat pithy, not quite acerbically dry but almost. This is odd, given a semi-sweetness running through. Confusing.
Feel: Semi-dry with good movement in a medium body and solid bite into the middle, pulling into the finish, which holds up without fading too fast.

Says it's 12%, but doesn't taste or feel like it. Very dull flavor and not very hoppy. Possibly one of the worst IPA's ever brewed.

DIPA made from Zeus hops. Served I chalice. Tawny colored ale with little swirls of foam on the surface. Aroma and taste track closely: dank, herbal and floral, huge malt backbone. Just the way I like my DIPAs. Smooth, and dangerously so for a 12% ale. (BAs listing is off, or the recipe changed in the last two years.)

Pretty good double IPA. Well balanced. Missing that knockout hop punch. Very drinkable for 9.1%. They only let you get two at the brewery.
