Berliner Weisse is a Northern German Sour style white beer. A great all-day summer refresher! The Berliner is light and drinkable with a delicate tang at the end. Try a Berliner flight with raspberry, peach, or the traditional woodruff syrup.

Poured from howler to tulip glass. For this session, I had the Berliner Weisse with woodruff syrup. Pale yellow with just a tiny bit of haze and a thin rim of bubbles. Aroma is funky, full of horse blanket and straw. Flavor is incongruous from the aroma. It begins sweet and finishes sour. There's almond notes in between, some wheat and sourdough. I'll have to stop by for a glass without the woodruff to see the difference.
