Poured from a 12 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Inky black pour with a finger of mocha colored head. Nice ring of sticky lacing.

S: Sweet and roasty with a bit of spice.

T.F: Sweet... roast and cocoa. Faint espresso... cinnamon and nutmeg, baked raisin, and ginger. Dark chocolate fudge. Medium bodied... smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Modest roast bitterness for balance. Low carbonation.

O: A well executed chocolate forward spiced Imperial Stout. The spices are complimentary and not the focus which really works for this brew. Tasty stuff!

12 oz can, 1 year old. Pours black with tall, long lasting, creamy, brown head and nice lacing. Aroma is of grassy hops, bready malt, toast, dark fruit, spices and vanilla. Body is full, creamy and smooth. Taste is of nutmeg, cinnamon, roasted malt, herbal hops, chocolate, brown sugar, dark fruit and vanilla. Finish is long and spicy. Excellent brew.

Canned on 10/16/17. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours black with a small dark khaki head that quickly fades leaving decent retention and lacing. The aromas are on the subtle side. Malts and chocolate seem to lead the way. The spice aromas start off almost non-existent, but they become noticeable as it warms. The flavors are much bolder than the nose might indicate. Lots of dark chocolate and chocolate syrup blend well with the cinnamon. Some ginger, nutmeg and molasses in the mix. Solid bitterness. Malts do their thing. Alcohol goes unnoticed for the most part. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's slick and finishes slightly syrupy.

This is a really nice spiced stout. The flavors are bold and rich while remaining balanced. The craftsmanship is on point. I really like it. Well done.

Looking at the surge of new reviews this probably shouldnt be retired here anymore.
Im sampling a cellar temp 12 oz can poured into my snifter. The beer pours a dark cola brown with creamy tan head of 1 cm that fades to thin surface layer and sturdy edge lacing that sticks around for the duration of the sampling. There is some sticky lattice after each sip.
The aroma is dark chocolate and a bit of cinnamon and mixed spices. The chocolate is dominant but the aroma is generally mild if that makes sense.
The first sip reveals a lighter body than expected and fine spacious carbonation. The texture is a little sticky and clings to my palate after each swallow.
Flavor is dark chocolate and some brown sugar with a bit of roasted malt and coffee grounds on the finish. The booze is well hidden and I dont get any hops at any point on this sampling. I also get just a little cinnamon briefly on the swallow. Slightly warming with the light spiciness.
The beer is very easy to drink and the booze is hidden, but the body is lighter than I would hope for a top line Imp Stout.
Glad I got to try it, not sure I would chase the beer.

12 oz can

Pours jet opaque black, light tan film for a head.

Smells of cocoa, coffee, cinnamon, vanilla, toast, hazelnut and pecan.

Flavor is of cocoa, cinnamon, biscuit, toast, mesquite, and pecan.

Full viscous body with stinging carbonation on the roof of the mouth.

Very nice rich stout, lots of good flavor and drinks very for the strength. Dangerous. Definitely try this.

On tap at the brewery. Absolute jet black with a very modest light brown head. Initial impression is roasted malt, unsweetened chocolate, dark fruit, and burnt grain. Medium-thick, oily mouthfeel - a little bit on the thin side for the style, but not bad. Moderate carbonation - perhaps a little bit on the high side for the style? Alcohol is well hidden. Not the best Imperial Stout I've had, but certainly not the worst.

A - Pitch black pour with a thin toffee lacing ring. Swirl the sniffer and very viscous and sticky on the glass, lots of legs here!

S - Chocolate fudge, cocoa, roasted malt.

T - Dark roasted malt chocolate, some caramel and molasses, lingering roasted dark chocolate bitterness that coats the mouth, mild alcohol warming on the way down.

M - Rick, thick, heavy body, slippery and sticky.

O - Never heard of this brewery before and looking forward to trying more of their stuff!
