This was burnt orange with lots of bubbles rising to show you its clarity. Thinner tan head of foam that lasts . sheeting lace to shimmer and cling as you drink.

Nose is breaddy with rye and soft with spice. Orange is fresh and in the background at first. This smells like a crisp rye cracker.

Taste is hearty and full of flavor. Bubbles are crisp and bring out the suculent orange against the breaddy rye. Hops show you their herbal lightly. Hop oils blend with orange peel for a pithy bitter finish. this beer is dynamic with complimenting textures. peppery spicy rye and peppery spicy hops. twigs earthy pine and gooseberry. Long ago I became desensitized to pine. There are piney hops in here that seem to show abundant spice. A touch cool.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a pretty amber/bronze color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, rye. Taste is sharp rye, citrus, spicy, light bitterness. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall is an easy drinking beer that would go down smooth on a hot day.

Summer release so drinking this old but only paid $1.75 for a single. Decent flavor smooth and not so spicy rye. If you find it just as cheap buy it the beer is holding up better than expected.

$ 14.97 (Including tax)/six pack of 12 oz cans ($ 0.2.8/oz) at The House of Brews, Robinson Township, PA.
Canned 4/26/17. Stored at room temp at store, then in my 42 degree reefer. Served at 42 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Aroma – Citrus with rye coming through. Lasts but fades somewhat.
Head – Large (Maximum 6.2 cm, aggressive pour), light tan, low density froth, good retention, slowly diminishing to an irregular eight to eleven mm frothy ring fed by effervescence and a heaped partial layer. Some broken bands and islands of lacing are left behind as the head retracts.
Lacing – Good. Wide complete rings of mostly tiny to medium bubbles.
Body – Amber with chill haze, effervescent.
Flavor – Begins with a milder rye presence than I was expecting, based on the nose. Some generic citrus mixes in. No barley malt, no alcohol, no diacetyl. Ends earthy and a little dry.
Palate – medium, watery, soft carbonation.

Impression: A good rye ale, even at six months old. The dating on the cans is very difficult to read, particularly in the store. A stop at their brewpub is in my future.

Appearance 4.25, Aroma 4, Flavor 4, Palate 3.5, Overall 4.

Rye and malt is a bit to heavy a combination for my personal taste.
