Draft into plastic cup at a baseball game. Pours a rich golden amber color with a modest off-white head. Initial impression is a sweet caramel-based somewhat boozy DIPA with notes of pineapple, mango, and orange. Mouthfeel is fairly thick and sticky. Finish is sweet and slightly syrupy. Overall, I really enjoyed this one.

DATE: May 4, 2019... OCCASION: still coming down after witnessing Avengers: Endgame... GLASSWARE: Maudite snifter... pours a hazy dark orange body supporting a half finger of snow white froth that rings the glass with uneven lacing... enough light permeates the glass to reveal reasonable effervescence... smart orange citrus kicks early in the aroma, with light floral notes and enough sweet biscuit to suggest some malt balance... not a lot otherwise overwhelming the experience, though apple and berry are somewhere in here as well... as the glass drains, an appreciable display of lacing webs across its once-clean top half... creamy, frothy, and drinkable, this holds a bit of warmth that suggests its 8.3% ABV... it doesn't offer much of a memory when the sip finishes, with a slightly syrupy sticky, oily mouthfeel as it tickles the tongue... puckering the lips, this is slightly bitter but not impactful, its hard fruits clashing with its attempts at building a more citric experience... orange, lemon, and slight grapefruit meld with boozy sweetness... this came in a mix pack, and compared to its counterparts, it's middling but not without enjoyment... could be bigger, bolder, more flavorful, and more memorable, as many DIPAs walk the earth now...

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 4/5/2018. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big mandarin orange, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light/pepper pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big mandarin orange, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light/pepper pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of mandarin orange, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light/pepper pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness/spicy alcohol. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Mildly increasing warmth of 8.3% after the finish. Overall this is an awesome DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Great soft feel. Great Mosaic, Citra, Mandarina Bavaria, Waimea, Calypso profile. Extremely juicy and lightly dank/earthy hops; nice sized bready malt backbone, not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and well made style example.
