I'm a fan of the (apparently now retired) Farmhand Lager by the same brewery. When I asked the woman at the Wyndridge store at Brown's Orchards about it, she recommended this new offering of the same style. "People say they like it even better," she said. Not sure I agree. It's good--don't get me wrong. I enjoyed it and I'm glad I bought a whole 6 pack of cans; but it's just not quite as complex as the other. Deep amber/orange in the glass; a nice lacing foam head and a slight biscuity scent in the nose evolves into a rich malt taste, balanced with obvious care by the brewers using a blend of hops that renders a nice bitterness to the aftertaste. Great amber lager. Just not quite on the same level as the Farmhand, IMHO. But well worth trying!
