On tap at the Surf 'N' Suds Beer Festival held at Carpenteria State Beach in Carpenteria, CA.
Pours a murky orange-brown with a foamy bone head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, rye, citrus fruit, citrus zest, funk, and Brett aromas. Taste is much the same with slightly sour rye, citrus fruit, tropical fruit, funk, and Brett flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with a nice smell, but the rye and Brett qualities work together slightly better in the taste to me.
Serving type: on tap.
