On tap at the Surf 'N' Suds Beer Festival held at Carpenteria State Beach in Carpenteria, CA.
Pours a murky dark orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is sour with malt, earth, berry, berry jam, wood, and acidic aromas. Taste is much the same with sour berry, earth, wood, and slight cheesy flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with solid berry qualities, but the slight cheese taste is odd.
