Cola brown on the pour then the deepest of browns (basically black) in the glass. Roughly one finger of beige colored head with decent retention that eventually receded to a thin ring and spotty cap. Overall a good looking beer. Aroma is understated, with faint malts and some fruitiness.
Taste brings plenty of raisin & fig, along with mild roasted notes. Not much hop bitterness at all. Body is much lighter than I would have anticipated for the style, albeit the happy effect of this is that it makes it light and easy drinking. It will not take long to put this one away.
