On tap at Miriam's in Brooklyn. Mmm... brunch beer.
Long wait for breakfast, but it's usually good. A Brooklyn Brewery tap handle, tapped over with the word "stout". The $8 short pour into a pils glass wasn't what I expected, but I'm still hopeful.
Matte black body, off white, fleeting head. My waiter double checks that the BK tap is indeed out.
Smells mild & minerally. Toasty grain, bark, a little anticipated sweetness. Mellow.
Taste is even more mellow. Reserved, restrained, blase. Faintly minerally, light char & malt. Incredibly thin. No bitterness or structure to base off of. No real lactose sweetness like their website states. Watery, undercarbed, bland, alcohol delivery system.
Boring beyond any perceived quafability.
