You hold a beer first brewed in celebration of the city of Luverne’s 150th anniversary. Pouring a beautiful copper red, the depth of this lager’s malty character is derived from traditionally malted German Heirloom Barley.

16 oz can best by date 3/1/24 into a tall Lager glass.
L: Pours reddish dark iced tea color with a thin off white head, stays thin, light steady carbo bubbles, moderate webbed & scattered lacing.
S: Malts, a hint of bread dough, raisins, plum, subtle dark fruits.
T: Toasted cereal grains, sweet malts, a light mineral taste, distant melon rind bitterness at the end of the finish, a super light suggestion of cocoa. Overall gently sweet.
F: Gently brisk then very lightly creamy with a medium-bodied feel and a long, non-drying finish.
O: A very tasty and expertly balanced beer. Nice blend of light sweetness and bitterness that weaves through malty notes. Lovely cereal grain notes as well. It is quite easy to drink and is excellent in its style.

Malt forward lager that drinks clean. Bread and toffee impressions on the flavor and aroma. A hint of dark fruits as well.
Copper color with a slight haze to it. Drinks sweetish but clean and not cloying. I like a good malty lager and this hits the mark.

Poured from a can into a tap.
Pours a deep copper/amber with a touch of chill haze. An excellent foamy/creamy head sticks around and gives way to good lacing.
Caramel and dark fruit aromas greet the nose, with just a touch of toasted biscuit.
The brew is initially malty sweet, with bready, caramel, and dark fruit sweetness. The mid-palate is awash with more malty flavors like brown bread, and a touch of molasses. Very little of anything else to balance the sweetness.
The brew has a great drinkable feel. Medium bodied but very well carbonated and it has a nice finish.
Overall, a brew that looks great and drinks well, but is too much of a malt bomb even for the style.
