A: Pours a very dark amber with a medium head
S: Winy and malty aroma that is quite strong and pleasant
T: Big body, winy (as promised by the aroma), sweet, robust malt flavor with lots of malt complexity, not much hop.
M: Great sense of density and roasted malt, strong across the palate,
D: A most drinkable beer, worth quaffing all evening.
I'm not sure about the deignation "English Old Ale," since this is more up front, strongly malty and sweet than most old ales I've tasted. This is one of the best house beers I've tasted at this bar.

Appearance- Pours a muddy and ruddy red/brown swamp. Mild in opacity. A few light orange highlights caught my eye as I held my pint glass to the light.A bit toomurky to see any carbonation though. Hardly any head and no lacing.
Smell- Very fresh malts give a whiff of roast, toast, and even some plums.
Taste- Starts with a dry, toasty malt. Then mellows, and then escalates to a more pronounced roast of nuts and cooked fruits.Complex, but not as complex as some true oldales I've sampled.
Mouthfeel- Smooth mix between dry and sweet. Feels great going down. Ended up having the whole half gallonin one night.Good stuff.
