this brew uses a similar recipe than Orion's Oatmeal Pale, with a couple ingredients changed due to a power outage at the brewpub when they were brewing (how, I do not know). on tap poured into a tumbler with no head. the brew was poured to the brim of the glass, which definitely left a bit to be desired in appearance.
aroma is of smooth hops, a bit citrusy, with a fruity quality and apricot, grape, and apple notes. the overall character blends together nicely, lending to the use of oatmeal.
taste follows the nose closely with a bit of grassy hops and wet hay added to the back end. finishes on residual grassy notes. a bit earthy for a pale, but still well done.
mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with a smooth and fresh quality along with a wheat malt-like texture and a smooth finish.
drinkability is good. a solid session beer with good and fresh APA qualities. the brew walks the fine line of fresh hops and easy drinking without getting stale. well proportioned with a solid drinkability.
