Hands down the worst beer at fobab 2022, maybe 2022 for me in general, to the point that whoever in our group hadn't sipped became the next victim in the ongoing prank of "you should try this amazing beer". What is there to say besides it is a malort BA beer as bad as you can imagine. Instead of imparting complimentary herbal booziness and smoke like I have tried elsewhere, this is a mess. The malort barrel literally burns on the palate, the citrus zest only adds to the bitterness, burnt juniper, charred wood, and cigarette buds from a full ashtray carry the rest of the sip. Smell is not as obvious, still smoky and boozy, but not enough to warn the would be drinker. It is hot, thin, so smoky, and the yeast doesn't seem comprehensive. This all being said, it does look great with an opaque dark brown body, tan head and thick lacing, only adding to the trap of the prank!
