This beer is big, malty, slightly fruity, and high in alcohol. The higher alcohol is a result of the icing process where a portion of the water is frozen and removed from the beer. This one spent 4.5 years in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. Look for great vanilla and bourbon notes from the wood. Brilliant dark ruby red in color. Served in a snifter. Champion in the Winter Beer category at the Great Alaska Beer and Barleywine Festival in 2010, 2011, and 2013.

Deep amber with tiny tan head. Beautiful thick curtains coat the snifter. Huge viscous beast of a beer. Low carbonation but still a huge bourbon, vanilla, liquorise nose. A wonderful sipper. On tap at Brewhouse. Served a bit cold - worth the wait to let it warm

Up to this point in time, I have never had a beer that has aged for this amount of time in bourbon barrels. This one is absolutely amazing.
