This beer is big, malty, slightly fruity, and high in alcohol. The higher alcohol is a result of the icing process where a portion of the water is frozen and removed from the beer. Brilliant dark ruby red in color. Served in a snifter.

I'm not a beer expert, but I did live in Germany for 12 years. This is the American brewed beer that most closely resembles my favorites from Bavaria.
Its dark reddish brown color and medium-dense head promise a rich flavor, and this beer delivers. The body is not as heavy as I expected. It is a bit malty-sweet, not too bitter. There's enough alcohol taste to remind you that you need a designated driver, but not so much as to be unpleasant.

Day 2 of 12 days of Barleywine 2016 - on draft at Glacier Brewhouse
2012 Aged 3 years in Buffalo Trace Barrels
The BA Eisbock is amazing - great balance of sweetness, malt, barrels - just superb. It's not on often, but if it is, do not miss out!

A clear mahogany in color with a tiny tan head. Aromas of fine whisky and Molasses. Taste is a rich molasses flavor up front, then a huge toffee component, followed by rich oak and a bit of bitterness to balance. Mouth feel is super rich. Overall a nice rich eisbock.

Served in a snifter, a deep dark ruby.
Aroma of plum, dark fruits, jam.
Tastes of plum, figs, sherry. Very reminiscent of a tawny port.
Full bodied, thick mouthfeel, moderate carbonation.
A magnificent beer that drinks more like a port with the high alcohol you would expect.
