Another of my wife's flight during a recent trip to Territorial. I added this beer as a German Pilsner for lack of a better style category. This is a pilsner based beer but it has our favorite souring agent, Brett, features in the brewing process. This beer features a bright white head that is frothy in appearance and dissipates rather quickly to a thin lacing. The beer itself appears to have moderate carbonation in the form of small bubbles rising moderately quickly toward the surface. The color is a light amber/golden color that seems to glow a bit. 3.75/5 The aroma is definitely that of a pilsner base with the typical white bread and cereal grain aromas but then there come the apricot and pear fruity notes with just a bit of funk. Very interesting aroma combination here. 4/5 As with the other Territorial beers that I have tried this beer's flavors runs in parallel with the notes of the aroma (and their associated strengths). Light caramel sweetness, pilsner malt, and cereal grains lead things off but these quickly give way to pear and apricot fruit notes. This fruitiness sticks around for quite some time before giving way to a bit of musty hay and peat moss notes. There is a bit of tartness as well that arises with an associated lemon juice flavor. No real bitterness here with the tartness cutting out any potential for bitterness. 3.75/5 Very light and crisp mouthfeel with a nice dryness throughout the lingers after swallowing. There is a light carbonation tickle up front but this does not last long. 3.75/5 Very interesting flavor combinations here but not necessarily my cup of tea. Well balanced between sweet, funky, and tart. A very fun combination of flavors to pick out and enjoy. 3.75/5
