Poured 12/3/16 from a 32oz growler that was filled at the brewery the previous day, into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light gold color, with a thin white head that fades slowly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains fruity citrus, piney hops and caramelized malts.

T: The taste starts out with a strong piney hops bitterness that is quickly followed by sweet flavors of fruity citrus and caramel. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and creates a very good balance. The after-taste is hoppy and sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down very easily, not too filling, good kick, very good representation of style, this is a nice hoppy beer to drink for a long time.

Growler fresh from the Barn poured into a Proclamation tulip glass. Cloudy blonde, mild aroma, gentle lacing. Very nice pale ale, drinks like a session beer but they say 6.5% abv. My first visit to this humble little brewery, and I enjoyed it very much. They grow a lot of hops and stress local ingredients, which I like a lot.

Finally took the short drive to Exeter, RI to check out Tilted Barn, which has been getting some good buzz in these parts. In the middle of nowhere..off a long winding country road. The brewery is a small room inside a barn, and the tasting room is right next door. Nice setup, friendly people.

On to the beer - the hazy look, strong piney/tropical aroma and balanced taste are all reminiscent of the top tier northern VT Pale Ales/IPAs. It doesn't hit you in the face with bitterness, and the well balanced flavors make it scarily easy to drink. The 750 I purchased was gone within a couple of hours.

I'll definitely make a return trip.

64oz. growler filled on 12/18/14. Served in a shaker pint. Pours a dull, hazy orange with a dense, 1.5 inch buttermilk-colored head. Great nose on this beer - citrus, topical fruit and medicinal rind. Taste consistent with nose; however, a bit watered down and there's also a slightly smokey quality. Finish expresses a slightly medicinal bitterness that lingers between quaffs. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body, but closer to light, with a lively carbonation that falls just shy of prickly. A nice pale ale with a lot going on. I'm a bit surprised by the abv. Doesn't seem like it should ring in as high as it does.

Originally tasted in November, heard there was a new recipe. Hope the quality did not go down!

Unfortunately I had to drop smell, taste and overall a bit. I lost the great mango sweetness which balance out the hoppiness. There was a bit of astringent quality to the aftertaste which was not appealing. Still a very good pale ale, but not challenging the MA or VT big boys like the original version.
