Poured 2/12/2017 from a 32oz growler that was filled at the brewery the previous day, into a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep dark brown color, with a short beige head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains black coffee, roasted malts, some chocolate and a faint touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out bready with a hearty roasted malt character up front that is quickly followed by a strong black coffee flavors. Then some smokiness comes in. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings a very good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly smoky.
M: Crisp and very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Very tasty, goes down quite easy, not too filling, good kick, very good representation of style, this is a very good Porter to drink for a long time.
