3.07/5 rDev -21.5%
look: 3.75 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 2.75 | feel: 4 | overall: 2.5
This is really disappointing, but this beer has significant phenolic off flavors. It pours a hazy orange with a decent white, creamy head that leave a bit of lacing. When I first poured it I caught nice, bright tropical aromas but then the dreaded bandaid smell appeared in the finish... oh no! Sure enough, it's there in the flavor as well. Initially you get the juicy fruit flavors you're hoping for but they are quickly muted by the very obvious phenolic off flavors I absolutely dread. It's too bad, because I think this could be an otherwise stellar beer, but the brewer clearly screwed up here. Sadly, this isn't the first time I've caught off flavors in TB's beer and I hope they address their QC issues because I really dig their vibe and when they nail a beer they really nail it. Overall though, this is a mess. But it's hazy and brewed in New England so I'm sure all the juice heads will claim it's amazing.
