A strong pour from a 16-oz. can barely reached a 1/2 finger of light peach colored fizzy foam with very short retention and no lace. Murky peach body (orange-brown) with orange highlights.
Bitter, sour and tart smell of fermented fruit featuring pear, orange and peach. Cracker, wheat bread and grainy malt appear once you get past the fruit. A faint pepper and spicy smell lurks in the background, not sure if its hops or spice.
The taste is mostly sour with tart cherries, some wet grass funk and an attempt at fruity sweetness. Items from the smell make the rounds with the fruit up front, rich malt a close second. A strange wet cardboard funk emerges late in the taste. Between dry and sweet (neutral) with low bitterness, the finish is quick with tartness and funk lingering.
Light body with plenty of carbonation in reserve despite the kick needed at the first pour. Alcohol is very well hidden, its the spice. The funk builds as it warms, still a smooth and refreshing drink.
