New England-style Imperial IPA with white wheat, flaked oats, and Nectaron hops

Hey Mom! This one's for you. The month of May brings many memories of hiking through wooded paths of bright azaleas at the public garden down the road. Originally brewed as part of our 2022 flower series, this Double IPA is brewed with white wheat and flaked oats, and (fittingly) features one of our favorite new hops: Nectaron. Cheers to all the Moms this month!

Slightly more than a fingers worth of crisp airy light khaki colored froth... Swirling carbonation... Color is a moderately hazed vibrant tangerine... Mild citrus / tropical nose sits atop a solid bready malt base with some faint grassy notes... Much more pronounced on the outside palate... Mango and orange notes lead... Followed by a faint earthiness, biscuit notes and some fresh cut grass... Feel is medium to full bodied... Moderate carbonation... A touch of a chalky finish... Nice beer and welcomed I production to Tilted Barn.

Excellent head production and retention. This is an absolute murk bomb, but a beautiful example of the style.

Impressively fragrant aroma, featuring mango, pineapple, mandarin orange, flowers, and pineapple.

Flavor follows. As a juice bomb, this New England-style IIPA is bold and sweet, smooth and creamy, up there in Tree House territory. Tasting notes match the nose, along with a very slight herbal aspect. The malt base is there only to add sweetness, mouthfeel, and creamy fullness; this beer is really all about the hops and the yeast expression, and it does so beautifully.
