Being from the Cleveland area we do love our locals. I just bought it because I am a huge Bernie Kosar fan. I was quite surprised that it was actually pretty decent. It sold out fast at that location, probably as more of a novelty item but I have bought more since keeping one full can, of course. Don't sip a lot of brown ales but l like this one. Unfamiliar with the brewery.

A nice surprise. Bernie Beer is underrated, just like one of Cleveland's folk heroes was underrated as a QB.

Look - Amber brown. Dark but you can see through it. Aggressive light tan head. It is creamy. Nice lacing.
Smell - Malt. Caramel. Brown sugar.
Taste - Similar to the smell. Bitter toward the end. Tannin.
Feel - Light and creamy. Carbonation explodes with the swallow.
Overall - Nice brown ale. Go Bernie Kosar!

Enjoyed from the 12 oz can in a pint glass. This decent brown pours an brownish orange with a fantastic rocky head of off white foam that lingers long and leaves great lacing. Nose of bittering hops, toasted malts, and some light sugars. Flavors follow the nose with a lightly toasted malt character instantly followed by a moderate hop bitterness. More sweetness comes through with warmth. Smooth mouth feel and good solid carbonation lifts this brew while the moderately bitter hops comes through on the aftertaste. Decent standard brown session ale.

Snagged a single can of this yesterday at Whole Foods Market in Beachwood. As I am a fan of the Brown Ale style, I was eager to try this one. It did not disappoint. Definitely will be popular amongst Browns fans, who like their beers simple. It's quite the tasty brew, and I WILL seek out more of it, as it seems to be EVERYWHERE in Northeast Ohio. (These folks DO LOVE anything locally produced, that gives glory to this town....then again, I've lived here almost 20 years, and, if I could skip the g-ddamned WINTERS, this ain't such a bad place to reside......)
Give this one a try, if you can......

12oz can poured into a pint glass
A: Orangeish-brown with a one-finger head that settles to a lacing
S: Fairly sweet, a fair amount of malts/wheat, some brown sugar
P: Fairly similar - malt/wheat, a bit of brown sugar and a hint of hop bitterness on the finish. Decent but nothing special
M: Medium-bodied, a bit sweet, just a touch of biterness
O: Decent, serviceable but nothing special. FWIW I preferred drinking it straight out of the can vs in a glass
