I secured a six pack of Hop Option (excellent name) at the Drug Mart in Willard, OH. After a careful pour it ended up being a slightly hazy golden with big white head (slightly over primed can) that left a spotty lace. The scent had hints of over prime and some pine. The taste had some sweet malt and pine mixed with bitterness and that funky taste when a beer has been over primed. The mouthfeel was medium in body with big carbonation. Overall its ok....I'd like to try this from the tap to see if a more even carbonation helps the taste.

I found this on draft and got a growler fill of it for $6.
A- Poured from my growler it is a pretty translucent tangerine color, thin and spotty small white head.
S- Malt, carmel/toffe, a faint wiff of hops, quite buttery.
T- Also quite buttery, malts seem to overplay the hops (which are very subdued for an IPA) but oh man the buttery characteristics are the main player.
M- Very smooth and drinkable, surprisingly low carbonation (maybe the keg was getting low?)
O- This is a decent beer (not so great IPA) but overall it's not too bad. I think it's like eating a big buttery bowl of popcorn with a few hop buds sprinkled in. Decent, pretty easy to quaff, nothing to write home about. If you want a nice hoppy IPA I wouldn't get off at this stop. I'm glad I got this on the cheap.

Poured from a can into the modified tulip glass.
A - Mandarin colored, a bit hazy, beautiful capped with thick white froth. Lacing clings in perfect rings.
S - Muted tropical notes, centered on Orange, a bit of pith, lemon skin, and a nice malt essence.
T - Malt solid, a well balanced treatment of hops,a bit of deciduous spruce, and a peppery clean component.
M - Rich in body with a soft water feel, a bit linger that is pleasant.
O - A solid IPA, worth seeking out.
Cheers

Pours a nice golden color with a tint of orange and a fluffy white head. No freshness date on the can. The nose is muted and almost non-existent. A touch of pine and malt. The taste is well balanced. Good biscuity notes, quickly followed by pine and citrus. The finish is balanced and doesn't linger. Overall, it's decent but doesn't blow me away.

This is a surprising brew from a brewery I previously did not know of (in a town where I lived 35 years ago).
It opens beautifully, all yellow, with great head but largish bubbles.. The aroma is a nice mellow hops smell and a hint of malts.
The taste is full bodied, especially for a lower ABV. There are the requisite over the top hops, but you can also still taste malts. I like this better than usual balance. A lot. It's not an overly complex taste, but it it's very satisfying - it feels much larger than 5.5%.
I highly recommend this for a good taste and an easy drinking and satisfying experience.

Quarterback Hoption brewed by Hop View Brewing Co., with an ABV of 5.50% This brew pours out a nice golden amber color with a huge white head. This brew has the look of most IPA's on the market. Not saying that is a bad thing. The smell is rich with hops, grains, and malts. Now for the taste of Quarterback Hoption is bold with flavors. You pick up on hops at first, then a nice smoothness of grains and malts. I like the bit of hops in this brew, but it is not bad at all. There is a lot going on in Quarterback Hoption, it has a nice balance to it. There is nothing overpowering about this brew. The mouthfeel of Quarterback Hoption, is bold rich and smooth. I like how this brew is different form some of the IPA's on the market. To me it has a smoother taste to it. Overall I'm giving Quarterback Hoption a 4 out of 5. I would buy this again.Hop View Brewing Co., did a nice job with brew.

A decent IPA. Nothing exceptional or new, but drinkable. With the lower abv a few of these would probably go down pretty easily on a hot day. Worth a try but not something to seek out.

A pale cloudy orange in color, this beer is not much on the nose at all. The slightest hint of pine and little else. This beer also starts very piney, but some citrus cuts through in the finish. The most dominant trait of this IPA is it's crispness. There is a tinge of malty sweetness in the finish as well. Overall, a very decent session.

12oz can poured into a pint glass
A: Slightly hazy light orange/light brown with a one-finger head that settles to a fine lacing
S: Fresh hops- mostly tangerine with orange and hints of pine, pineapple and grain
T: Mostly matches the nose but the emphasis is tangerine, orange and wheat
M: Light-medium bodied, crisp
O: I really enjoy the tangerine/citrus focus, definitely unique. Lighter than many IPAs but it's both balanced and tasty
