This was another beer that I picked up at Crane Flat in Yosemite National Park last summer. Never had this before, nor anything else from Jackrabbit, and for the part of the country it was brewed in, it was a bit underwhelming...
Pretty typical pour for something of this style, as it was golden with a full head that took a while to settle down. Some well-defined rings of lacing stayed behind as they were somewhat wavy and uneven. Earthy hops, feet, and a bit of forest funk were in the muted nose as the tasted closely followed suit. Some fruit cocktail, white chocolate, and jack fruit were in there too, along with a pretty strong presence of booze. Not slick or oily, this didn't feel like a left coast brew as it was a bit more hazy, without resin or Cascade, and was a bit tingly on my teeth once I finished it off.
The ABV on the can was 6.7% although it felt stronger and dated on the bottom was 5/22 with "MORE COWBELL" written above it. SNL reference aside, I"m not sure what that meant as this was just a bit too typical for me. Loved the label as this would be alright to sip after a long day out in Yosemite!
