This was another beer that I picked up while out at Yosemite last year as I was intrigued by the Union Jack label. Haven't had a beer of this type in a while but this was certainly smooth enough to make me want to have more, or at least wish that I picked up another can!
Not much a surprise that this poured a dark nut brown as it was topped off with a foamy, dark tan head that was full of bubbles of varying sizes. Lots of suds remained including a thin collar near the top of my pint glass and various sized splotches the rest of the way down. Roasted malt, cherry, and dark fruit were in the nose as the taste contained booze, licorice, and bitter chocolate that melded pretty well together. More potent than I would have liked, there was lots going on here although this wasn't terribly thick or overtly roasted. Some dark bread and black sambuca was in the back as the aftertaste was a tad oily and reminiscent of peat moss.
The carbonation was lively, which helped take the edge off this. Canned on 12/19/22 with "ITS COMING HOME" written above it, this was a somewhat robust brew that matched up decently with those from across the pond. Worth a go once for those who love the style or want something strong and nuanced at the same time.

This is an excellent porter with an ABV substantively above average. I wish it had a bit more hoppy bitterness to balance the malts, but that is my only quibble. If I could get this at home, I would be tempted to mix it with two parts Boulevard Bully Porter.

16oz can poured into a snifter
A- pours black in color with a two-finger foamy khaki head that has great retention and leave some lacing behind
S- smells of chocolate and caramel malts, roasted barley, charred wood, anise, coffee and a hint of dark fruit
T- sweet chocolate and caramel malts up front, followed by roasted barley that gives notes of coffee, bitter-chocolate and char. The finish gives more roast and chocolate, with a hint of dark fruits on the linger
M- medium body with medium carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into a foamy and bubbly finish
