Another selection from the 2022 dipa festival. Hadn't heard of the brewery, so I gave it a try. And now, 14 months later, here is the beer added to this database. You dig it the most.
Pours a light copper color. 1/2" slightly off white head. The aroma is hoppy, the Strata hop pushes the most weight nose wise, sweet berries, weed, stone fruit. Some bittering hops perceptible. The woody Idaho 7 reference here.
The taste continues to be pushed by the Strata hop. El Dorado brings a light possible pineapple influence. Of course the pine like bitterness will contribute in that sense as well. The malt body isn't as heavy as the SRM looks. I suspect going 1.5 bittering hops on this actually gave some levity to the malt bill, did a great job mouth feel wise helping with 8.5% abv going down smoothly. I don't live far from this brewery, but never see its stuff on shelves, I guess there is a lot of competition in the Sac/Auburn corridor these days.
Tomie straight scared old girl, she knows whats up now. If you can't cook or contribute, net negative, I'd be worried too.
