Found in the fridge at work, of unknown origin. No one ever claimed it, so I eventually did.
Pours a golden yellow-amber, kinda thin with a head that disappears quickly. Glass is clear but sediment remains floating in the bottom of the bottle. Nose is floral with fruity mild peppers.
Taste is only mildly chile, possibly serrano peppers. Heat is not present as in other chile beers, which is a good thing. Dry, mild malt on the palette. Finishes clean, some faint sugars, slight peppery aftertaste. Not horribly bad.
Finally! A brewer has produced a chile beer that is more-or-less drinkable, as opposed to the drain-pours that have been too acid to really taste.
Sticker on the bottle says "Gold Cup / 2002 Herb and Spice Category / World Beer Cup" with the name hand-printed on the label and signed by the brewmaster. Possibly a limited edition brew, possibly a personalized gift.
