I visited this place on a whim. I live semi-locally, but had not heard of it until it popped up on a search result. Turns out it opened in November of 2014, so it's no surprise I hadn't been there.
Vibe: A new bar in an old barn. They clearly gutted the old barn and did a LOT of work to get it where it is. Nicely done.
Quality: All the beers seem quite well made. I liked everything, even if they weren't individually the best of their categories. I would recommend the IPA or the English Bitter.
Service: Clearly a situation where the lady behind the bar was a friend helping out with the new business. She knew enough to answer most of my questions, but her overall knowledge of the beers left something to be desired. Also seemed a little dismissive.
Selection: This was something that surprised me for such a recently opened business. They had at least six of their own beers, as well as several other semi-local offerings. When I did the tasting it wasn't limited to their own beers, you can try anything they have. The only downside to such a small place is they only offer their beers in whole or half growlers. Whole growler refills are $12, and halfs are $7.
Overall: I'd try it again with a few friends. Seems like a place that would be a lot more active and even fun on weekends, and the beers were tasty. Give it a shot if you're in the area.
