Atlantic Brewing Company - Town Hill / Mainely Meat BBQ

Mainely Meat has some of the best barbecue in this part of Maine. The atmosphere is family and dog friendly, but only adults allowed at the bar. The beer is fresh from the brewery next door and quite good. Prices are moderate and the draft beer is a bargain for these times. Too bad it is only open during the tourist season from Memorial Day Weekend to Early October.

Stopped in here for lunch. Usual selection of ABC beers. Cool spot to grab an outdoor table. Nice area for the kids to play. But the main draw here is the BBQ. It was delicious. Worth a stop here even if you don't drink. The BBQ was killer.

Solid place located outside of Barb Habor. Good selection of their beers with some tasters available. Shop with all of their canned offering and some merch on one side and brewery/BBQ joint on the other side. Grear food with good service. Worth a detour. Plenty of parking and fair prices.

 

Decent place. Beers are ok but not great. Around 10 of their own beers, with a cider and seltzer, and homemade sodas. Decent selection of styles from ipas to red ales, blueberry, stout, porter, seasonal ales, and even a braggot.

Staff was friendly. Outdoor beer garden patio was nice, and "indoor" like seating that is basically a covered 3 seasons room, was decent as well, with a few beer signs scattered about. Since I visited during covid19, no brewery tour or sampling.

As for the bbq, I think it's a bit overrated. I got the sampler, chicken was really good, pulled pork was mush and not very pork like, sausage was ok, and ribs were ok but a bit amateur. For the sides the eggy potato salad was decent, beans and Cole slaw were good. Their bbq sauce was quite sweet and Smokey almost like they added a bunch of liquid smoke, and I believe the hot sauce was just Frank's. I think BTs has very much spoiled me.

Definitely a great place to visit on Mount Desert Island when vacationing in Acadia National Park. Decent peer, solid atmosphere, fun place.

 

 

If you want tasty smoked meat and some decent simple sides then this is the place for you in bar harbor. Had some good spice in one of the sauces and beans. Decent beers, with variety of styles so everyone should find something they would want to try. Simple laid back, country type of atmosphere, some outdoor seating. Free tastings inside small shop, a definite stop if you are in area and like smoked meats (also have some sandwich options) and beer
