With a sprinkle of spice, a slice of fruit and a sprite carbonated character, this overlay on the otherwise yeast-neutral flavor of Wanderland IPA a jolt of complexity and variety.
Wanderfarm leaps out with a light and hazy caramel color. Its frothy eggshell foam stance decorates the nose with citrus and spice- pink grapefruit, orange peel, pineapple, apple and lemon all take on a spicy scent with freshly grated white pepper, light clove, earhty cumin and a stern waft of straw. Its malty upstart is supple with caramelized sweetness and hints of honey and graham cracker.
As the IPA character of the beer takes hold, the sweetness subsides and the fruit flavors from hops begin to link up with the lemon, apple, orange, and nectarine esters for a succulent tandem that entice the middle palate. While the taste dries, the spices project, bringing the earthy, peppery and stewn hay-like bite to balance the fruit.
Playful acidity takes the ale in a slight winey direction, but make no mistake about it- the medium-bodied beer takes on a hop-forward demeanor, gaining bitterness, dryness and a resinous finish of pine and fresh-cut grass. Even as the stronger effervescence heightens the spice and hay in aftertaste.
