This is an incredibly smooth beer for 11%, as it has a tremendous dark fruit complexion. Date, prune, and plum compliment a strong dark cherry flavor and it drinks smooth and easy.

The brewery that prides itself in its adept Belgian beer making develops a stronger, darker, Belgian-style abbey ale to rival those of the Trappist monasteries. With tons of complex layers and acute attention to balance and detail, the bold ale is a inviting as it is intimidating.
Beyond its resolute deep garnet austere, Quadzilla's short statured head folds back into itself under the enormity of its own weight and power. Lead with dark berries, vinous alcohol and a candied scent, the melange of fruit and spice promises to be strong and satisfying. Yet as its hard candy sweetness slathers on the tongue, it drags with it a deep molasses, brown sugar and rummy taste.
As the tongue acclimates to the beer's powerful taste, its more finesse nuances unfold upon the middle palate. The the fruit begins to build, starting plummy, berry-like and of blackcurrant before doing deep, dark and earthy with prune, raisin and dates. As the spiciness of peppercorn, clove and cinnamon build to rival that of fruit, a vinous-type alcohol spice and its tangy acidity is suggestive of red wine and brandy.
While the ale shows a slow tendency to fade, the warmth of alcohol, sharpness of spice and its underlying tartness balances the sweetness and eases the palate into a session that's slightly more relaxed that a relegated sipping affair. Its certain full body is lavish and sweet as the ale finishes warming, spicy and laced with the dessert-like capabilities of spiced rum.
