Employing the most pungent hops on the planet; those that represent well the aroma and flavor of their cousin plant- cannabis for a citrusy, grassy and herbaceous character that can only be described as dank; the Ethereal team entice hop heads with that curiosity along with actual dark berry and tropical flavors to boot.
Medium bronze and carrying a familiar haze, the hoppy ale sheds a creamy off white froth and the botanical perfume of fresh cut grass, tea, citrus, and the pungent taboo herb of marijuana. Its taste is toasty and sweet; woven with the taste of bread crust, granola and peanut skins before the hops arrive.
The malt relaxes on the middle palate and allows for the taste of hops to shed their citrusy, berry and tropical fruit goodness. Pineapple, blackberry and currant, orange, lime and cranberry offer waves of boldness and also nuanced tartness. Trending in the direction of fresh grass clippings, citrus peels and freshly torn pine needles, the bitterness grows into an herbal and woodsy tandem.
Medium-bodied, the beer's toastier taste has the palate seeking boldness. But the carbonation, alcohol and hops help to dry the texture, leaving behind the sticky texture of cannabis oil and residual maltiness. A long and bitter aftertaste has a smooth finish with a grassy, floral under current.
