Celebrating, or at least harking back to the beer of America's early frontiersmen, Ethereal brewers seem to feel the need for a replication in those rudimentary, rustic and unrefined flavors to remind the craft beer aficionados of how far we've come, and to give the industrial light lager crowd something to pretend to enjoy.
Pale gold and teaming with racing carbonated bubbles, Kentucky Cream Dream sheds a fizzy, loosely knit head for a brief moment. Wet grains, grass and an overall stemmy scent emanates from the dissolving froth with dry vegetation and a hint of hop spice. Its taste is grainy sweet with the remnants and tethers of pilsner malt and a bold character of simple sugars.
As the carbonation is loosely tied to the beer, its sparkling effervescence falls dull on the middle palate and those cereal sweetness, powdered sugar and flat cream soda flavors rest heavily on the tastebuds. A light grassiness pulls from a modest floral scent and trends peppery, grassy and overall spicy with bitterness.
Medium bodied and lightly bready, the beer's texture is sweet, grainy and laden with the spurs of raw grain. Its flat taste is met with flat texture as the hop and vegative balance fades and leaves the simple cereal sweetness to plague the aftertaste.
