Since their opening, the flagship IPA of Ethereal Brewing has been through several reimaginings, reinventions, tweaks and improvements, but their is redo gets them a little closer to the standard American IPA flavor that won over area hop heads early on.
Golden amber and pouring with a creamy white cap, lacy rings define each and every drink. As always, bold aromatics lure the nose with branch ripe citrus fruit, tropical fruit and fresh greenness in an herbal bouquet fashion. Mild caramel and honey come with a slight biscuit character for a malty introduction to the palate.
Receding sweetness and reducing its malty balance, the beer dries wonderfully over the short middle palate, carrying a vibrant taste of pink grapefruit, radiant oranges, light pineapple an mango before the hops develop into the clean but gripping bitterness of citrus peel, sharp resins and an overall fresh grassiness.
Medium bodied and trending dry, the late palate favors a high rate of drinkability along with a peppery vegetal note of astringency that tucks behind the hop bitterness nicely. A pep of gin frames the alcohol contribution as the ale extends long and lean with piney bitterness and a subtle support of creamy dryness.
