Another birthday up, another birthday down. Ethereal brewing will have us all seeing stars for their sixth trip around the sun. And it comes via a hazy Imperial IPA that's built on the backs of Citra, Galaxy, Cashmere, & Amarillo hops.
Star Factory kicks off the party with a peachy khaki appearance that's caught in a pastel matte finish. As a creamy lather forms at the rim, the soft citrus aromas link up with tropical, cereal and nutty tones leading into that first sip. A general cereal sweetness provides a creamy and soft early palate with nuances of shortcake, agave and cashew.
The malts slowly turn the flavors over to the hops as the ale crosses middle palate. A citrus contingent comes with orange, and lighter grapefruit while the tropical fruits of mild mango, pineapple and papaya come out to play. With the stone fruits of apricot and the orchard fruit of peach, berry and pawpaw, the hops carry a general stewed fruit and candied taste into a smooth and herbal finish.
Medium bodied and remaining creamy through its finish, the IPA trails with a bite of sun tea, hemp and a general fresh grassy flavor while finishing malty dry and extending with a slight drying peppery bite that circulates around fresh spruce and cedar.
