I really didn't know this about myself, but Ethereal brewers have made me realize that I need a lot of Italian Crispy Boi in my life. Crisp, refreshing and certainly thirst quenching, this Italian inspired Euro-Lager is that beer that you drink while you're figuring out what you want to drink.
Bright with straw and cast in a slight haze, the unfiltered lager builds a tall cottony froth while drifting about the nose with fresh raw grain, baking bread and a gentle hop grassiness. Simple and sweet in early palate introductions, aspects of light bread, honeysuckle and fresh dough come to mind.
But as the beer washes the middle palate, a quick shift toward the hop spices reveal a more herbal taste of fresh parsley, lemongrass and a hint of eucalyptus. With faint esters of lemon, apple, white grape and pear lurk in the background a late fade to bitterness carries a grassy and minty bite.
A mild mannered grain astringnecy pushes the flavors into a nearly lemongrass finish, the beer is crisp and refreshing as advertised while trailing into a medium short aftertaste of those grasses and herbs. It's also a perfect beer to close out a session of cosmos solving that we all do when sharing a few pints too many.
