Bringing back some serious Purple Haze vibes, Ethereal, with the help of Tristin, elevates that contemporary taste and resurrects the American pale wheat ale with an elevated raspberry character. They might as well bring sexy back while they're at it.
Expectedly pale mauve in color, the cloudy haze carries a soft white foam along with fresh picked raspberries, bread dough and a fruity-floral combination. Sweeter in taste, early impressions of raspberry tart, mild pastry and a hint of honey give an equally expected fruity upstart.
Holding quite firm, the creamy wheat flavors remain rounded on the middle palate and provide a solid base for the generous raspberry additions that stand front and center in taste. With only a mild hop balance, any bitterness reads like fruity pectins and ride nicely into a pleasantly tart finish, of course decorated with red berry.
Medium bodied and trending lighter, crisper and more refreshing, this version is an elevated taste and texture from the hazy purple beer of '08.
