Super crushable style, originating in Cologne, Germany. Perfect for the anticipation of Fall and Oktoberfest. The name is a reference you know if you know, Cheers!

On tap at the brewery. A pale gold pour with a rocky white head that settles into a patchy skin. Aroma has lightly sweet grains with notes of pear and spring wildflowers. Flavor is more lemon/floral with malts/pear esters in near balance; the finish is more dry than clean. The beer is full bodied, bubbly, and a little chewy - all of these relative to the style. And that’s the crux for me… because of the heaviness of this beer, compared to it’s German counterparts, I can’t give it a favorable rating. One was enough, which is a sentence that should never be uttered about a Kolsch.

For those times when a comfort beer is all you need. You know, one that goes down as easy as old cologne.

And for that, there's a Cologne styled beer that departs from the perfume in favor of its own modestly floral, lightly fruity scent that hovers gently above a bright and golden body and its creamy white froth. As the first sip approaches, it does so with a part-malt, part-grain profile of light sweetness, breadienss and hints of honey.

As the rounded and smoothly malted hybrid beer remains firm on the middle palate, the floral hops turn mildly spicy to balance the lingering bready malts and to bring a snappy bitterness to the finish that's redolent with mint, parsley and fresh grasses.

Medium bodied for most light beer but generally light overall, the Kolsch-styled beer finishes slightly more malt balanced than of hops along with a short and crisp aftertaste of fresh baked bread and light floral undertones.
