There was a time when there were much more to IPA than the haze. Maybe that's when America was great: when we had rye pale ale.
Out to make America great again, Ethereal Brewing releases Rye So Serious- a soft and hazy burnt amber colored beer that carries an eggshell froth with a fruity, toasty, husky scent and an early taste of caramel, toast, biscuit and peppery sweetness. As the rye pale ale seeps into the tastebuds, the unique hops of Azacca, Crystal and Nelson Sauvin adds a clever and curious fruitiness of nectarine and white grape with hints of orange and pink grapefruit lurking closely behind. Balanced with bitterness, the stemmy herbal character of sassafras, verbena and citrus peel link up with the husken grit of rye for a pleasantly off-clean and bitter leaning session to steal the show.
Medium bodied and drinking more like an amber ale, this pale ale shows that old can be new again if we expect things to get any better.
