No date on can, into an Ethereal Brewing tulip.
Pours a vibrant hazy yellow with massive fluffy foam. Aroma is diesel, gooseberry, and a ton of white wine funk. A little bit of fruit, but mostly dank weird cattiness. Flavor follows nose, tons of diesel and burnt popcorn but not in an unpleasant way. The grape and berry elements of Nelson are also on full display, with those appearing on the mid palate well. There's also a good hit of pineapple juice that I enjoy, and there's a sourness on the back end that pairs well with the grape flavors. Finish is faintly dry and slightly sticky, some bitterness but also building fruit flavors that linger. Feel is good, surprisingly light. It feels like an overgrown single IPA with how easy it is to drink, but the complexity of hop flavors is completely in the realm of DIPA.
Overall, a deliciously hoppy treat from Ethereal. The best parts of Nelson are on display here in full force, with the berry and grape flavors feeling fresh and bright, and the diesel serving only to balance out the fruitiness. I had this in a flight on draft, but drinking it slowly from a can really helps display the depths of the fantastic hop flavors this beer has to show.
