In a wild and Mediterranean twist, Ethereal brewers reach clear across the the Aegean Sea and bring their pistachios to the fabled world of Baba Yaga. Dressed in sweet, savory and nutty pastry flavors, this stout is packed with dessert flavor.
Jet black and floating a thin espresso creme, Pistachio Cake Baba Yaga swoons the senses with espresso roast, dark chocolate, bourbon spice, vanilla and toasted nuttiness in true cakey fashion. Early sweetness slathers the tastebuds with blackstrap molasses, dark chocolate, caramel, toffee and vanilla cream ahead of more dark roast coffee, nuttiness and smokey char for more savory effects. Trailing into a spicy blend of kahlua and bourbon, the late taste is bitter with coffee, woods and spicy barrel nuances before wrapping in the uniqueness of vanilla and pistachio brittle.
Full bodied, pleasantly chewy and spicy with extended bourbon aging, the effects of pistachio cake are somewhat minimized from the extensive bourbon character.
