Blackish-brown body; opaque; head is thick and frothy. Little smell with regards to the grain bill, but the whiskey barrel aging leaves prominent boozy notes to the nose. The flavor mirrors the aroma; strong spirit flavor overall with some roasted grain notes; char. The mouthfeel seems rather weak for an imperial stout yet has a somewhat creamy texture to it; slick and silky; alcohol heat.
A fantastic looking stout yet there is some weakness and lack of balance to the beer for the style. Still quite enjoyable, but it would benefit from some more body and depth to the flavor.
