First appearance looks like a thick, sludgy nectarine juice topped with a thin, wispy, white head; nice sheets of foam coat the glass. Surprisingly little to no aroma at first; more of a citrus / tropical fruit thing as the beer opened up. Things improve with the taste; earthy with a citrus twist plus a moderately intense hop bitterness. Fine heavy body; velvety with a slight acidic bite.
Initially poured out at 47° F. The appearance, aroma, and taste were all rather muted and not so appealing at first, but as it warmed and opened up, some more interesting things did blossom and shine. This isn't a great double IPA, but it's certainly worth trying.
Initially poured at 47° F, everything improving when the beer warmed to 57° F. Served from a crowler canned June 22nd, 2021.
