English barleywine brewed solely with aromatic English base malt. After primary fermentation the beer was transferred into Moscatel, Red Zinfandel, and Tawney Port barrels. After 16 months, the 3 barrels are blended together to meld the incredibly unique profiles.

Well it's ugly. Murky, muddy straw color with a thin soapy head.
Aged in three different wine barrels. I can't say I can specifically discern any of them distinctly, but the vinous notes are strong. Dry and oaky, nicely working with, almost overwhelming in fact, a sweet English barleywine. Just faint brown sugar is all I can find. Kind of unbalanced but extremely enjoyable.

L: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a murky brown color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy head that quickly dissipated. Pretty good lacing.
S: A very nice aroma of hops, a vinous quality, caramel, malt, and wood.
T: Tasted of a fair amount of malt (present throughout, though more subtle than expected), a good amount of hops (not obnoxiously so), some of the vinous quality (an interesting addition), a bit of caramel (quite sweet), and some of the wood from the barrel aging. A well done flavor that gets better as you go along. Well-balanced and quite tasty.
F: A good amount of carbonation with a sharp, yet dry finish. Medium-bodied.
O: A interesting take on the barleywine style. Drinkable.
