500ml bottle poured into a tulip.
Pours clear and dark brown with a quarter inch head that reduces to a ring inside of a minute. The foam is light brown and is comprised both small and large bubbles. The nose is subdued and predominately dark fruit and roast with weak and sporadic whiffs of bourbon barrel, vanilla and chocolate. Flavor is more forthcoming than the nose, opening with thick marshmallow sweetness held in check by tangy dark raisin until roasted malt adds mild bitterness and a bit of balance. I get a bit of graham cracker in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium weight, soft and warming with low-ish carbonation.
Overall I would say this is just OK. I actually found it more to my liking the next morning after leaving a partial glass out overnight.
