From the bottle, it pours a slightly hazy golden color with a modest, soon diminishing to ring and islands, head. In the nose, it is light: malt with some toasted grains. In the mouth, it is similar, with a creamy feel to it.

A: Pours a straw colour, topped with a rather fizzy head of stark white. Within a few moments, it settles to a thin layer over, surrounded by a ring of lace.

S + T: Modest aroma--a lighter toastiness and a light hop profile. The taste is quite similar, with a light and clean grain flavour and minimal hops for balance.

MF + O: LIght in body, and carbonated well enough to provide a nice and refreshing finish. Despite being light, it carries enough body to hold the flavour on the finish. Overall, this is a pretty decent beer and a fine selection to accompany the warmer weather.

I don't see any bottle date anywhere on the label or bottle.

Appearance: It has a slightly hazy straw colored body with a short white head.

Aroma: The beer has a slightly skunky smell to it along with a spicy hop aroma. It has far more hop aroma than your traditional cream ale but the bottle does state that this is an American Cream Ale which denotes this could be hoppier than your average cream ale. That skunky aroma does not do well for this beer.

Taste: Fortunately the aroma didn't pass any character directly to the flavor. The flavor is a nice sweet cereal tasting base with a rough overlay of spicy woody hops.

Mouthfeel: The body of the beer is light but is hardened by the hop bitterness which gives it enough edge to reduce drinkability a bit.

Overall: I wasn't a fan of this cream ale. The hop flavor and character just seemed to mar the smooth texture and sweet flavor of the beer rather than compliment it. The aroma was just off-putting. Overall it was just a hard beer to drink. If you enjoy hoppy beers you will find yourself missing out on that fresh delicious hop flavor. If you are a fan of sweet smooth cream ales you will find yourself annoyed by this back seat driver hop that wants to send you into a ditch. It's not a beer I'd drink again and I wouldn't recommend it.
