Copenhagen 3/11 2018. 75 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh Ø. Generic tae on the Abbey Beer look with a bit too much gold and Lions. This beers relation with any Abbeys seems pretty rudimentary, so that's only natural.
Pours deep, clear brown with a red hue and medium-sized off-white head.Settles as thin, flimsy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is sweet with a very light roast. Brown sugar, lightly roasted malts and caramel. Sweetens further as the beer warms up and get a little bit nauseating.
Moderately strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, flat texture.
Flavor has prominent sweetness followed by moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish but pretty thin. Lingers shortly.
This is as far from a Abbey Dubbel as United Dutch Breweries is from any Abbey.

Can. Dark stained oak appearance. Thick dense head. Light cream colour.
Muted aroma of malt and phenols. Spicy yeast and treacle.
Tastes similar but like the smell it's underwhelming.
Well carbonated with a medium body.
A very ordinary Abbey Dubbel.
