Celtic myth has tales of kings being served Red Ale ladled from silver vats. Our Irish Red Ale is served from a can, but we believe our malt-forward brew with caramel and toffee notes is just as fit for royalty.

Number 8 in the small batch series from Moosehead. Served fairly cold into a tasting glass. LCBO purchase for just north of $3. Well carbonated as we had a situation when this was cracked.
Appearance - Clear auburn colored beer with a nice two fingers of frothy off-white head. Very modest staying power and no lacing to speak of.
Smell - Some grain with earthy metallic notes mixed in, hints of caramel mostly, not much else.
Taste - Initially not a lot, then a thin caramel and toffee film shines through before fading away to a thin watery finish. Metallic earthiness to close, just like the nose.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, but watery, carbonation is lacking some.
Overall - A mediocre Irish red we have here. Nothing to stand out, body is just off and the smells and flavors are forced. Wouldn't get again.

Can: decants a clear copper red brew with a nice 2 finger off white cap that lasts....aromas are very demure light smoke, wood, grain sweetness, grassyness...flavor is not bad but 2 dimensional lightly toasty sweet malts over grassy-woody hopping....short light clean finish...not a bad stab at a red ale for a mega brewer but it still lacks the body and flavor you get in a crafted beer

Spied this whilst picking up some cider for a recipe.
Color fits the style. Classic Irish Red aromas, sweet malts, slight air of spice.
Flavor doesn't overwhelm nor disappoint. Feel is a bit on the light side.
Overall a good take on the style. As mentioned it won't blow your socks off but still very drinkable. I'm down for having another

Clear amber with a thick, foamy head. Mild caramel malt nose. Light-medium malt body, very mild flavours. Smooth mouthfeel with a little dryness.
