Looks great to start with. Crystal clear golden body with a big, white foamy head. Lacing was sticky and stubborn.
Nose is pretty floral with maybe just a very light touch of grapefruit and pineapple.
Taste is immediately pleasantly bitter with grapefruit, touch of mango, a little of that malty sweetness and maybe just a little peppery, but not like it's a peppered beer. Just a little bitter bite spicey.
Feels dangerously drinkable. Smooth, easy drinking and virtually no aftertaste. An and Brandon win again.

Pours a clear golden color. The head us a finger high and white in shade. It has an interesting texture in that the retention is very good, but it becomes more bubbly and thin the longer it sits. A solid ring of lacing sticks to the glass.
This has Amarillo and Mosaic - and I smell 'em both. Mosaic shows up with a strong dank, oniony quality (rather than tropical fruits, unfortunately), and Amarillo shows up with some nice peach, apricot, and lemon. As it warms up, I do start getting some more tropical fruit and citrus as it opens up, though. Malt is minimal. Getting past the onion qualities, it offers a highly impressive aroma.
I first taste some lemon, bubblegum, and peach. Later, it will transitions into a dank citrusy quality, with tropical fruits lurking around. Onion is put on the backburner, and thank cripes - the Amarillo hops seem to temper this unwanted aspect of Mosaic very well. Bitterness is beautifully concealed as well. This beer has amazing balance, and even some complexity. End result: it's a killer DIPA.
This has that classic West coast-style dryness, along with being light on the palate (but not flimsy). Carbonation isn't particularly high. The drinkability of this brew is just staggering. This is 5%, right, it goes down so easily yet somehow tastes so bold...it's 8%?! Well fuck me with a spoon.
It smells really good, but it tastes amazing. This beer isn't the biggest or the boldest DIPA - no, it brings something one doesn't normally expect from this style. Deftness. It's delicate and refined, plus it's tasty as hell. The DMV region is really starting to crank out some awesome IPAs, eh?

This small brew pub kills it with their DIPA's. She gone has a fresh citrus touch and resiny finish. Similar to clown shoes space cake, but better!!

Fantastic example of what I would classify as a "New England" style IPA from The Answer. I like the addition of the Amarillo in this, bringing an even drier, more citrusy quality, as opposed to the 100% mosaic "Hard in the Paint." There's still tons of tropical, dank mosaic character just dripping from this beer. So clean and so good.
